The Gaiwan(mandarin Chinese for 'covered cup') is one of China's popular traditional brewing vessels. This palm-sized cup performs as a teapot(or cup) and provides the tea drinker with all of the apparatus that he or she needs in one easy design - saucer, cup, and lid. Since porcelain loses heat quickly, it's especially appropriate for green tea which brews well in lower temperature.
