China is known as the birthplace of tea and tea culture. The first tea gardens in the world were found in China before they were anywhere else and they produced a plethora of different styles and traditions for preparing and drinking tea. Black, green, white, oolong and puerh teas are all produced in China, and the modern world can taste the distinctive nature of tea grown in China. Taiwan, once known as Formosa, is famous for its premium-quality oolong teas. It is considered by true tea connoisseurs to be amongst the finest oolong grown anywhere in the world.
