India & Sri Lanka

India and Sri Lanka Assam, Nilgiri and Darjeeling are three such regions that produce well-known, high-quality teas that are common in modern households in the West. Assam, with its mild, tropical climate, produces strong, bold, tannic teas. Those teas grown in Darjeeling's cool highlands are flowery and delicate. Nilgiri teas are slightly sweet and dark, perfect to drink with milk and honey. India is famous for its chai. Chai literally means 'tea' and the drink commonly known in North America as chai is Indian spice tea, or masala chai. Sri Lanka produces Ceylon tea. It grown at altitudes of 3000 to in moist conditions that make the tea bushes flush frequently. Despite its mild acidity, it maintains a full-bodied flavour. Because of this, it is often recommended as a good tea to try for those new to the realm of tea-drinking.
